About This Pipe
In case the knock-your-socks-off, smoky, vibrant bengal contrast stain, and crisp, modernist shaping didn't make it clear enough that this was a Werner Mummert creation, the German artisan has fitted this playfully-proportioned sitter with quite a novel stem-base consisting of a precisely turned piece of briar bearing his name and nation of origin in a crisp, defined Bauhaus typeface. This is, of course, and as the title implies, a "reverse Calabash" design, meaning that the extra-stout shank isn't just there for aesthetic impact, but also to allow room for a capacious smoke-cooling and condensation-collection air chamber.
