About This Pipe
While the Hawkbill shape itself is largely defined by the presence of a high-set, arching shank and stem, here Massimo Palazzi and Andrea Pascucci appear to have decided to make the bowl the centerpiece instead. The stem and shank are still mounted high, and they do indeed arch, but rather more subtly than most other renditions. On the other hand, the bowl is proportionally fuller-bodied, thoroughly, smoothly voluptuous, and just overall perfectly shaped to demand attention from eye and hand alike.
