Welcome to another thrilling installment of Mystery Review, a monthly series in which our panel of experts attempts to identify a mysterious tobacco. This month's inquisitor is Jared Coles, artisan pipe maker and tobacco lover. Based in Visalia, California, Jared has been fashioning quality tobacco pipes since 2011, and like many carvers, his journey as an artisan was catalyzed by his love for pipe smoking. Will his mystery mixture leave us contemplating our life choices, or will we easily identify the blend? Join us as we discuss what we think this mystery smoke is and make our best guesses. What is The Mystery Review?
For those unfamiliar with our little game, each month one member of our team — or sometimes an honored guest inquisitor — selects a tobacco or cigar for us to review in a blind taste test. Then we gather around the camera, scratch our heads, and smoke, all while attempting to guess the mysterious submission, its manufacturer, and, if we're lucky, its name.

I really look forward to the pipe tobacco reviews, although I miss Truett. The cigar reviews have too much testosterone and male posing. But, I really dislike when the tobacco being evaluated is some multi-year old concoction of multiple blends cooked up by the inquisition. It is much, much better to hear thoughts about a blend that I might end up buying. Is that not Marketing 101? Please do a pipe tobacco mystery review every month and don't alternate with cigars. Also, a pipe check and a bit of discussion about the pipe you chose is always enjoyable. I really like you guys notwithstanding my criticism.
