If pipe smoking is alowed in heaven, as I suspect it is, this blend is without question the number one choice.

The tin note was promising, fruity, sweet, delicious. Packed half a bowl, applied flame, took a draw and boom! My mouth was on fire! Tongue bite? No sir, MOUTH BITE! This stuff instantly stung every surface of my mouth, from tongue to gums to roof ... Read More
to soft pallet. I was in dismay. So I kept on sipping away, praying the flavor would come, but noooooooo, the chemical taste did not avert. It's like the smells in the tin were a scent rather than a flavoring. I like aromatics, but this has to be the most miserable smoke I have ever had. Dry, acidic, stingy. Retail price is $42.50!?!?! I could buy a pouch of Captain Black and soak it in Drano to get the same effect. No offence to those who enjoy this tobacco, but it simply is not for me. Read Less

I have to qualify this by saying, I prefer English blends, but enjoy an aromatic from time to time. Solani Sweet Mystery X leaves me wondering why I don’t try aromatics more often. The tin note of this delectable blend was bliss. I was afraid it was ... Read More
heavily cased with something that would fade in a week or so. It has lasted months.
The room note on the Sweet Mystery X never fails to evoke comment. Ostensibly, somebody will ask me what I am smoking. The taste is sweet, but not overpowering. One of the reasons I am drawn to English blends is the taste of the blends, in my opinion, is better. When I say Sweet Mystery X tastes great, keep in mind that comes from somebody that usually distains aromatics because of the chemical taste most casings leave behind. This Solani blend is top shelf. I can’t think of many aromatics of this quality. Read Less

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 50g
I remember the tin smell was gorgeous as it reminded me molasses, peaches prunes in rum and a little maple, very delicate and tropical mix.
But when the fire came into the play it changed everything. Im a stubborn person, i never surrender easily ... Read More
and this applies with tobacco as well. I simply couldnt believe this tobacco with such a great smell on the tin i couldnt like, and even though when smoked it was rather ok, it always leave a mark that was dissapointing. Especially notable was this sour cigarette like taste and the ashy goupy tongue aftertaste. That and the fact that the taste was not as promisory as the tin smell was in the beginning. It was rather just kinda lousy tobacco with a subtle scent of something undetermined.
I gave it whole tin chance to "Sweet mistery", but it rather came as a "Sour revelation" in my boat. One star for the tin design. Read Less

I found it to be a pleasant smoke, here is a slightly acrid sour sweetness that I'm sure is right up some smokers' alleys. For me I didn't love the flavor profile, but that is completely subjective. Another quality product from Solani, but it just wa... Read More

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 50g
While I tend to smoke English blends, I do dabble in aromatics from time to time. Tin smell is sweet and inviting but, like many aromatics, that seems to be where it ends. Once lit, the aroma is very subtle at best and I could not detect any taste. N... Read More

I bought this blend well over a year ago and let it sit only because it was out of sight and mind...my mistakes..it is ,like others have said, very aromatic,fruity..but this blend still stays tobacco forward..I can very clearly pick out the VA tobacco... Read More
,which to me is the best aspect of the blend..gives a nice little VA nose tingle and aro flavor all the way through the smoke..this is a slow smoke,as is the case with most aromatic VA containing blends, that slow cadence will reward the piper with an excellent blend..nic hit is low/medium low..Tin total age 3 years(jarred 1year) Read Less

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 100g
Nice aroma very wet out of tin from heavy syrupy casing. Strong coconut cream and berry aroma if that’s enjoyable to you. I like it. Need to dry out before using in my experience. It’s not smooth however. Smokes a little harsh. Otherwise I like the s... Read More

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 100g
I bought the tin just to try it not really expecting a lot from the tobacco. I was so set back the tin notes were so nice and the smoke was just beautiful.

This is a hard one to review so I'll keep it short. It's a great blend with sweet and sour notes. Some air time before lighting would help. It's the kind of blend that you sit and ponder about what it is that your tasting. Very refreshing and well do... Read More

Not a Big Fan of Aromatics

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 50g
....and this blend hasn't turned me into one. It's very fruity and would probably be appreciated at large gatherings of non-smokers, but as a standalone tobacco I'd rather have any of the Solani non-aromatic blends. I'll keep and finish the tin, and ... Read More
if it's offered to me again I'll happily accept. But I won't go out of my way to acquire more, and that's why it only gets three stars from me. EDIT: Turns out it ghosted the Hades out of the pipe I was using, which gets another half-star knocked off. If you don't have a pipe reserved for aromatics, now might be the time to invest in one. Even if you do, this one did such a great job of leaving its flavor behind that it may well need a pipe of its own. Read Less

Product: Solani X - Sweet Mystery 50g
While still a rather young and somewhat inexperienced smoker, I have dabbled with quite a large number of blends (mostly aromatics so far) and this is right at the top for me (a tie with Mac Baren's 7 Seas: Black). I have experimented with different ... Read More
packing techniques, smoked this from slightly damp to dry, and smoked this blend in a few different pieces and have loved each experience with it. nearly every smoke I have received great compliments on the beautiful and complex aroma of this blend. Tasty hints of the Bacardi/current, the undeniable smooth sweetness of black cavendish, and everything else about this blend resulted in my finishing the whole tin in far less time than my other tobaccos. Solani X: Sweet Mystery kept me yearning for just one more bowl each day. Read Less

the complex, compelling perfume.
Sweet Mystery burns to a blue-grey-silver ash wafting hints of orange and cherry.
This strong blend requires smoking slowly to avoid “bite”. The afterglow is sweet, salt, slightly bitter, woody-tobacco that is pleasant and most relaxing.
Smoke gently in a large pipe, packing a single bowl for the sitting. An intoxicating bowl aroma following the final draw reminds of a singular experience, and the promise of another yet to come. Read Less

Not a real fan of aromatics, but this is just loaded with a blueberry/blackberry taste. If you really enjoy this type of flavors then this will certainly please. Best if smoked slow and easy. Probably not something I would buy again.

This is a very rich and flavorful blend. One evening had it burning just right and of course that was the last bowl. Let it dry a bit.

A good blend for the aromatic lovers. One of the sweetest tobaccos I have had the pleasure of trying. Figs, prunes, and rum were the most prominent flavors I detected. Burns nice and cool with no tongue bite at all. No complaints.
