I I have tried the tobacco and think, as a once a year extravagance, well worth the price. It's really great stuff.
The review that made me laugh the hardest was the review that suggested Smoking Pipes was "deleting" reviews (with an approved and published review). Read Less

3. Us pipe smokers sometimes forget how lucky we are, Good cigars are 10 - 20 bucks apiece, that makes this a much more affordable hobby,
even if all you smoked was plumb pudding special reserve.

s author - reserved for the season and a well seasoned stump of a pipe it is clenched fast in my teeth.
This tobacco is truly a treat - Tin note upon opening was spectacular - bready, sweet hay, yeasty, raisins, slight aged apple - almost a nut roll smell in the background. It's a wonderful and sumptuous dark brick, I thought it might be super strong as it had such a pronounced dark tobacco nose. DEFINATELY you get what you pay for - easy preparation with a pen knife - easy rub out - will fluff into many bowls i'm sure. CLEAN - very clean. Not as boozy as some of the barrel aged blends. I let the bowl sit for about ten minuets & lit her up. One char light - one true light , That's it. Stayed lit & true to the bottom. Fine white ash throughout - no dottle left no moisture, just ash. The flavors here meld perfectly into the sum, Smoked kool & dry. Pipe did not get hot to the touch - no tongue bite, no big nic hit. Paired with a large club soda (remember I'm at work) as I did not want any flavors to color my first experience. The plum pudding reserve base tobacco's are well aged & curated the latakia - orientals - perique & cavendish are in perfect proportion nothing overpowers & the pressing and barrel aging add to the melding into the whole - this is not a tobacco to pick apart to find the individual flavors it is for sure greater than it's components and should be enjoyed as the whole. Wonderful experience & a Christmas gift - I will be enjoying this tin for the season & I picked up 3 more to lay down. Can't wait to pair this with a neat Bushmills 12year I've got for after Christmas dinner.

hen the country is struggling. It’s ridiculous! They really want us to believe that Plim Pudding in a brandy barrel is worth almost $43 for 4 ounces. You can come on the this same site and get 8 ounces of GL Pesse Quiet Nights for less than this. Believe me if you have not smoked Quiet Nights you are missing out and it’s better than Plum Pudding, Plum Pudding Reserve, Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel, Plum Pudding Christmas Spirit and any other money grab they can come up with. any of you are) lucky enough to be able to spoil myself with some luxuries from time to time. At the rate I smoke, and the number of blends in my rotation, this $43 is going to last me a long time. Is it worth it? For me, yes. I’m currently sitting in my back yard, savoring every puff of this savory sweet smoke that perfectly encapsulates the Christmas mood I’m chasing. It’s a warm and earthy, fireplace kind of smoke, with a bit of gingerbread spice keeping me intrigued. The aroma is somehow different from, but perfectly complementary to the flavor. In the chilly air, watching the clean white smoke dance in the reflection of Christmas lights, knowing my boy is inside, sleeping sound, eager to get up and see what Santa brought him, I’m grateful to be able to sit back with this peaceful hobby of ours and reflect on all the good in our lives. let it sit for about 5 minutes. That was my fault and I should have let it sit for at least double or triple that. My second bowl, which was given 20 minutes to sit was MUCH better. Read Less

is a luxury, not a necessity. Most the people complaining are probably smoking out of artisan/dunhill pipes and sad about spending 40 bucks on tobacco give me a break. Not one comment here is probably from a cob only smoker or someone who buys in bulk.
