About This Pipe
For a pipe company from Milan, this impressive Savinelli Sigla shows more than just a wink towards the Pesaro school of neo-classical pipe shaping. The subtle, upward cant of the rim, the liquid transition from the bowl to the shank (both off of the back of the bowl and from the heel) and the charming proportions all seem to hint that this pipe was carved in that ancient port city. Size wise? The Savinelli aim for this series is to bring in an abbreviated Autograph (Sigla means "abbreviated" in Italian) and at about a largish Dunhill Group 4 to a smaller Group 5, they hit the bulls-eye. Speaking of "bulls-eye", check out this grain.
