OLD SCUTTER

Newminster - No.201 Straight Black
Not For Me
No flavor, no kick, no bueno!! Just didn't like it.

Dunhill - My Mixture 965
Amazing Smoke
This was my go to mix until I discovered Kramers Father Dempsey. However, this is such a close second that if I could only smoke it I would be perfectly content. I usually always have a jar on hand to share with friends so I don't have to share my Dempsey!!

Borkum Riff - Cherry Liqueur 1.5oz
Nope
Did not meet any of my tobacco markers, no flavor, no hit, burns hot....just not the smoke smoke for me.

Cornell & Diehl - Billy Budd
Hearty Full Figured
Wow, this stuff is delicious and could be the closest mix to replacing Kramers Father Dempsey as my go to smoke. Glad to know I have a strong backup if I ever need it!!

McClelland - 5125 - Coyote Classic Full
Good Choice
I have nothing bad to say about it, and it would be part of my normal rotations but Kramers Father Dempsey hold my top English spot. Coyote is really really good, you should try it.

Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Delicious
Love this as a change of pace, I'm generally an English smoker but occasionally I enjoy a consistent VaPer. I prefer the stronger strength English but prefer my VaPers to be more on the mid-strength and this one just works for me every time I need a change of pace!

Kramer's - Father Dempsey
Heavenly
Leave it to a Catholic Priest to blend the perfect English mixture. I can remember actually thanking God for giving Father Dempsey the power to share this with the world. Seriously, this is what God smokes!! Buy it now and thank me later!! Always top choice, morning, noon and night!!

Lane Limited - 1-Q
Decent but not life changing
I have visited, revisited and even vacationed with this blend and although I find it enjoyable its not enough to become a player in my normal rotations. Most will find it good, and some great, it just doesn't do enough for me, the taste dies for me almost immediately which causes me to smoke hotter than I like trying to find it again. I've tried almost every loading and smoking processes to make this work for me because I do enjoy the initial flavor.

Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman
Faithful Dependable Pleasure.
This was one of my very first tobaccos back in 1993 and has been in the rotation ever since. Like most pipe smokers I enjoy experimenting with and continue my quest to find the perfect blend, but sometimes its just good to go back and enjoy the comforts of home. It is a outstanding smoke when dried for an hour or two, loaded ultra loosed and sipped slow. Unlike other aromatics it doesn't loose its flavor at the halfway point, retrohale with a gentle tongue smack and you'll chase the taste as far down the bowl as you want to go. I think the reason this blend doesn't rate higher is because people haven't taken the time to figure out its smoke characteristics. You really have to go slow with this one, it will reward you when you do.
