Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Morning Blend
Something about it
I've had to up my score because I've slowly made it my cup of coffee breakfast smoke. And that's a special role. Excellent tobaccos. Excellent room note for others. Smooth and tasty. Not overpowering and lightly sweet. Packs and burns perfectly. Can't recommend enough.

My blending buddy
I love this straight complex va blend. I enjoy smoking it as is but I love mixing it with other tobaccos that don't have enough nic hit or substance to their smoke. If I have a flavorful but too light a blend... I'll add this and it cranks it right up perfectly.

Treated as a navy flake.... this is bliss. How another review could leave a half star blows my mind. It's a terrible and insulting review and that dude should just quit smoking a pipe.

Just something still seems artificial tasting. Smells good. Tastes way too pgish for the light topping it should have. But that's my tongue.

It's that middle of the road and sits there on shelf situation. If I ran out I guess I would order more out of respect for the blend? I dunno.....

If this blend had a little more booze and a little less nicotine it would be a nice all day smoke rotation for me. Would fill a rum+ slot or something.

Sweet AND spicy
Cutting to the chase. What it relays on my pallet is sweet and spicy with a little nuttiness... pretty dang good. The nic hit was pretty high for me so I wouldn't smoke it all day as often as some others.... it's not a nic bomb but it isn't 1q either.....

Near perfect for its role
It's a straight Virginia. With rum and sweetness. And it does it exceptionally. Can't ask for much more. The sweetness isn't overbearing nor the rum. They're topped exceptionally. Gonna order this regularly now

There are plenty of great Virginia tobaccos out there... but for tinned i usually order this and for bulk stokebeye luxury flake.

Perfect percentages
I finally tried this blend the other day and truly enjoyed it. I've only had 2 bowls but so far it seems excellent in the burley to Virginia ratio zone.
Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman
An all day smoke
After another 1oz sample bullseye, I ordered a bunch of this to go in my all day smoke rotation. It's not heavy on the nic but it's there enough to give a throat hit without freight training it. The toppings aren't overdone and I feel gives a slightly nutty and slightly sweet pleasant all day smoke. It's not special treat worthy. But it's a great simple all day blend....

Exceeded my expectation
I didn't expect too much from this blend. I got it during a round of 1oz sampler splurges..splurged... it's a lightly sweet mild aromatic that isn't offensive by any standards... I dunno what the toppings are... bourbon, sugar, honey, vanilla? I dunno.... but it works. I ordered another half pound to jar up my very next order cause it does do great with a cup of joe in the morning. So the name fits!

if you had someone in your family that smoked this, then you def understand. If not, have a smoke and think about all the settlers that enjoyed that same simplicity.

Now this is a va-per! Just get it! I'm fixing to order 4 tins after I had a friend pack me a bowl at a social gathering.... love the way the flavor n spices seem to change through the bowl.

I was given a sample of this at the local b&m and fell in love. I get a really strong kick of citrus in this. Is it just me? Let me know...

I can tell emmediately when I opened the tin that I was in for a tasty treat when I saw a beautiful contrast of dark n brights.... if you're on the fence... get it.

Just as they should
These guys work just as they should. I tend to take em out and let em dry out after a days use and use em again a couple days later before discarding. And I usually smoke about 4 bowls a day through em. So I guess I feel they efficiently filter 6-8 bowls each before I think they need to be discarded.

Perfect
These are great for that extra scrubbing that is needed to really get the gunk out etc. Some pipe cleaners are a little too wimpy to actually scrub and they're only good for transferring alcohol or soaking up some liquid. But these, these guys are great for scrubbing... the extra stiff bristles really get the gunk out and don't deform.
Sutliff - Tobacco Galleria: Night Cap
Way pungent
I was not expecting the aromatic to be soo strong, it smokes a little more subtle but it still gives off a heck of a room note. It's a pleasing room note.. but a strong one. Has a classic pipe tobacco smell etc.
Sutliff - Molto Dolce 1.5oz
Dessert god
If you like sweet n sticky aromatics, this is the champ. If you're more of a dry English smoker... this smoke will piss you off prolly.. its wet and seems overly cased by the wet look of it... however, I don't even dry it out.. I give it a good extra flame when I first spark it... but once lit and rocking... she stays lit and keeps feeding thick n sweet smoke.
Newminster - No.47 Danish Black
Smooth
This is one of those aromatics that is hard to describe the actual room note and flavor I get. Its not one i would wanna smoke all day or every day. However, it is one that I crave and want to keep a jar of. It's a zero bite kinda smoke for me with the blackened cavendish.... I can freight train this stuff and not really worry about my poor tongue!

Great room note
This is one of those smokes that are mellow enough to smoke all day without blowing out your pallet or biting your tongue off.. but also has a wonderful rook note. One of those classic "pipe" smelling smokes.
Lane Limited - LL-7
Great one!
I guess my pallet isn't good enough to distinguish the marshmallow I guess.. but it is a perfectly blended and flavored smoke. Its sweet and smooth and doesn't have a nasty bite or anything. Definitely similar to 1q etc. Maybe a tad on the sweeter side!

Excellent all day smoke
This is one of those that is similar to 1-q. And that isn't a bad thing! The cut is a little different and the blend seems a little more zesty...a smooth sweet smoke that stays lit very easily and isn't overpowering! Definitely one to keep several ounces of!

Hmmmmmm
My very first impressions were a let down. From other descriptions etc. I had a huge fragrant twin note. However, when I opened the tin, the aroma was pretty faint. I immediately thought I was in for a bland time. I was wrong. The quality of tobacco is excellent and the flavorings are spot on. The smoke feels very creamy to my pallet and not bland or airy/thin... the flavor and rom note persisted till there was basically nothing but ash.... I will keep this in rotation as a top 10 for sure.

I really Wanted to like this blend. But I just can't do cherry.... it's not the tobacco , just me. The tobacco itself is top notch and tinned well.

not much can be said or critiqued about a tamper. I got this one 2nd hand and it still looked and unscrewed as if new. I just wish it were a tad bit heavier.

just as much as I keep a simple black Cavendish for blending my own ideas... I keep this for blending!
Sutliff - Creme Brulee
a go to desert
this is one of those smokes that are worth the goopy trouble. Its not dry, its wet. Just like my chick's panties.. Sometimes wetter is better!
Comoy's - Cask No.4
Perique master
The perique is the star of the show here. I get an excellent amount of tongue dance without the bite. And the fact that its in flake form is perfect for me. I love the smell as I rub this blend out and prepare a bowl.
Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz
middle of the road
to me, this is mediocre. Packed and stayed lit exceptionally. But nothing jumped out at me but the nicotine.
Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
Surprising on the goop
generally when you smoke a blend that has this much topping and sweetness, you get a goopy mess. But not with this. It may not be "haunted bookshop" dry... but for as much yummy sweetness ya get.. the minimal goop is def worth it!
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed

this is one of those smokes I tend to grab when I'm doing outdoor chores. Especially in the winter. Dunno why, maybe its the thick comforting smoke that billows. Just maybe...
Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
great traveler
This is the smoke I bring with me on the go. The flakes travel well. The room note isn't abnoxious to others and there's little to no bite. Just a great all arounder for a trip to the park!
Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
A solid smoke
this is one of the best all around "burley" blends. The name comes with a lot of hype and you will either be overjoyed or let down. You'll either love its straight tobacco and nicotine punch or you'll complain about it. When I want to recommend a blend to someone coming from cigarette smoking to pipes... this is what I recommend.
