Robert Lewis - 123 Mixture 50g
Worth It
Pretty standard tight knit English blend. Sort of reminds me of Dunhill Aperitif. Very Latakia forward with the cigar leaf dancing in the background. I would love for it to have more cigar leaf but who am I to judge a 200 year old blend. This is a perfect after dinner smoke. 😊

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 8oz
It's a VaPer....duh.
So I see a lot of reviews stating it's too strong, tongue bite etc. It's a VaPer with medium to heavy nicotine. Flavor profile is baked bread, herbal, and pepper. Mid-bowl is very earthy almost cigar like. For me this is my all day smoke cubed with scissors maybe 4-5 bowls on a Saturday but I am also a cigar guy so it doesn't bother me. If your a noob or an aromatic guy, VaPers might not be for you as this does get your heart pumping. With that said, I love this stuff. ❀✌

Cornell & Diehl - Red Virginia Cavendish
All day mellow.
Standard Virginia blend here. Pouch note is herbal with a touch of sugar. No drying time needed lights without effort. Top half of the bowl is sugary sweet with notes of baked bread, grass and or hay. As you work your way down the bowl earthy notes combined with pepper appear and the sugary sweetness drops off. Pretty standard straight VA not a lot of depth or mystique which is perfect if you love straight VA's or are in the mood. Definitely a smooth all day smoke. πŸ‘Œ

McClelland - 2035 - Dark Navy Flake
Let it rest.
SO.... I ordered a 2oz sample of this stuff and upon receiving it I wasn't impressed. The flake is extremely moist and had this prune, licorice note to it. This flake did not smoke any better. I let it sit for 6 month got bored one day and tried a second bowl....... WOW! It had dried out to what I consider optimum for a flake and crumbled with ease. The intense pouch notes had died off. A little tedious to light as most flakes are but once underway really interesting VA flavors shined through with lots of sweetness and sugar. Really slow burn rate so it makes for a good sit down smoke. If you like Virginia's I recommend this one you just have to let it sit for a bit. πŸ‘

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - American Blend Whisky
Pass it up.
Once again in my search for a bulk booze saturated tobacco I was let down by this blend as well. Leaf quality and the blending of the tobacco overall is nice. There is a subtle sweetness coming from whatever topping is used but fades away rather quickly. There is no hint of whiskey what so ever. Disappointing to say the least. πŸ‘Ž

Peter Stokkebye - PS38 Highland Whiskey
Maybe a different name?
I like boozey Navy blends a lot and looking for something in bulk. Going off the name and product description I ordered a 1oz. sample. This isn't it. The leaf quality is good as well as the blending but just imagine a standard aromatic blend of VA, burley and cavendish without any topping. This is it. I think this blend should be renamed "Naked Aromatic," as there is a very slight sweet sugary aroma but it is definitely not whiskey. πŸ‘Ž

Cornell & Diehl - After Hours Flake 2oz
Sweet flake.
Γ€ really nice offering from C&D and a shame it isn't offered in bulk. Opening the tin your greeted with notes of grass and boozey raisins. Initial lighting is fairly effortless for a flake. Underway the Virginia is up front with the rum in the background. This flake is in a medium to full nicotine range making it perfect for an end of the day on the porch smoke. Overall if you like Navy blends and or flake, don't hesitate to buy a tin or two.

Samuel Gawith - Black Forest 50g
Definitely different.
Much like Grousemoor this is a really odd aromatic. Your either gonna love it or hate it. I won't be buying another tin.😐

Cornell & Diehl - Pennington Gap 2oz
Boozey.
Another great offering from C&D. Opening the tin your greated with maybe a sweet raisin and chocolate note. The cube cut easily fills the bowl and packs down nicely for a really even draw and burn. The blend lights nicely with no effort. The room note is sweet and boozey similar to Plum Cake. Notes of caramel and nut get picked up in the side stream. This is a really good all day smoke and a shame it isn't offered in bulk. Pick some up its worth it! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Š

Cornell & Diehl - London Squire
Delightful.
This is a really good blend from C&D. The pouch note is of hay and leather. The blend is a bit on the dry side so it lights exceptionally well. The smoke is dense with the latakia standing out in front. I wish there was a tid bit more cavendish in the blend but overall it's a really good English chocked full of Latakia. I wouldn't hesitate to order a pound on your first go. πŸ‘πŸ‘Š

McClelland - 5110 - Dark English Full
Latakia power house.
By far my favorite bulk tobacco I keep on hand. I can see where this blend might not be for everyone. The pouch note is of leather and campfire, really earthy. This is a heavy latakia blend so the room note is what you'd expect from such. Depending on your preference a little drying time might be in order as it takes a little bit to get lit. Really rich but smooth smoke with a medium nicotine punch. If you like latakia blends I wouldn't hesitate to order a pound.

Dunhill - London Mixture 50g
Dunhill's Best.
Honestly I have to say of all the Dunhill blends, London Mixture is my favorite. It is an all day English with no bite and very smooth. The Latakia shines through but doesn't overpower the Virginia more over simply compliments the grassy notes with some pungent leather. I give it five stars and definitely will be buying more!

Lane Limited - BCA
Cool and smooth.
Black Cavendish is always a treat to smoke for me. This is one of the best. The room note as I can best describe would be that of marshmallows with a hint of vodka. The tobacco was a little hard to light but most black Cavendish tobaccos I've tried are and really not a huge complaint. Absolutely no bite like your smoking cool water making for a perfect all day smoke. I wouldn't hesitate to go ahead and order a pound of it first try. You won't be disappointed. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Kopp - Limited Edition 2015 100g
Top shelf aromatic.
This is the first Kohlhase & Kopp tobacco I've tried. The tin alone is amazing and worth holding onto. Inside the tin the tobacco is sealed in a plastic bag. Opening the bag you get a very sweet almost berry, sugary tin note. The tobacco is ribbon cut and on the thicker side. I found this blend a little labor intensive to light possibly due to a little bit higher moisture content but nothing in the way of a deterrence to buy more. The room note is definitely one of champagne and fruit of some sort but I myself didn't detect rum and coconut. The blend itself is very slow burning and a heavy aromatic. With that said I found myself wishing I had smoked this in a smaller pipe and not a group 4, as about 3 quarters into the bowl and almost 2 hours later I had more than my fill. Overall this is extremely high quality tobacco and an amazingly different aromatic worth trying.... in small portions. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Newminster - No.31 Optimal Choice
Pleasing aromatic.
I ordered 4 ounces of this stuff enough to fill one jar and give it a try purely based on the above reviews. It was worth it. Opening the bag you get a pouch note of sugar and raisins not so much of berries. The ribbon cut is course and on the thicker side which I really liked as it gives this blend a more robust flavor. The room note is very pleasing and safe enough to smoke inside if you choose too. Lighting was effortless even with the dampness of the tobacco and it burned evenly without any percolating. I didn't notice any bite but I also smoked it very slow indoors. Overall I recommend this blend and will be keeping a jar full in my rotation. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Cornell & Diehl - Kajun Kake 2oz
Thick and peppery.
This is some really good stuff. The Virginia and Cavendish pair well together making for a rich, smooth smoke. The Perique in the background gives this cake a little bit of pepper spice to it. Slow and even burning it makes for a long smoke to get lost in your thoughts. Pick a tin up I recommend it! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Nording - Hunter Blend: Pointer 50g
Worth buying a tin or two.
Opening the tin I expected something drastically different from the Labrador I tried. The tin note is a dark chocolate very similar to Labrador minus the nuttiness. Room note is mild and pleasing enough to smoke indoors. My personal opinion Pointer is a little more stout than Labrador I believe this is due in part to the lack of any Cavendish in the blend. I recommend smoking this slow there is a little bite. Overall a really good blend and definitely worth buying. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Cornell & Diehl - Montford Point Marine 2oz
As advertised.
This blend is exactly as described, stout and at attention. I was extremely surprised at how smooth this stuff is yet it's pungent and strong at the same time. I would almost go as far as to say you could smoke it all day. The Perique really gives this blend a nice spicy touch in the background pairing well with the Latakia and Burley. Overall two thumbs πŸ‘πŸ‘ up! I will most certainly be keeping this in the rotation. Semper Fi!

Cornell & Diehl - Bourbon Bleu 2oz
Good cake.
So I've got some tucked away doing the 10 year cellar thing but I couldn't resist opening a tin up and smoking some. Tin note is sweet and you can smell a subtle hint of bourbon but nothing overpowering. I rubbed some of it out but also put whole chunks in the bowl just to mix things up a bit. Because of this it didn't burn evenly and initially it was a little hard to light as well. The flavor is smooth and creamy with some pepper off the Perique in the background. There's a little bourbon in the side stream but nothing too strong. Overall it's pretty good stuff but agreed it could use some time aging. As far as C&D cakes go I'm still partial to Black Frigate but none the less I would still pick some up. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Dunhill - Aperitif 50g
Bold.
This is a very bold and tasty blend. I can best describe it as dark, earthy with some pepper spice. Best to be smoked slowly there is some bite. Pretty standard moisture content I personally think most of the Dunhill blends can stand a day or so air drying. Definitely worth a try I keep some in the rotation. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Mac Baren - Modern Virginia Flake 50g
Really good flake.
I'm really impressed with Mac Baren once again. For a Virginia flake this has a really good room note, sweet and not offensive. The tin note is fruity and light. There is a really good balance of tobacco flavor with a nice topping to this which I enjoy. A little effort is required to get it going as it is a bit moist and may need some time to dry if that's your thing. The flake burns extremely evenly and slow with a small bit of bite. I definitely recommend keeping a tin or two of this stuff on hand.πŸ‘πŸ‘

Cornell & Diehl - Black Frigate 2oz
Excellent start to finish.
This stuff is absolutely amazing! Throughout the entire bowl there's this wonderful rum aroma not overpowering the tobacco but sitting in the background. The latakia gives this cake some thick leather to it combined with plum or raisin notes from the rum soaked Virginia's. This is probably the best example of what a Navy blend should be. Smokes extremely slow and a little uneven but without any complaints. I really wish Black Frigate would come in bigger sizes but that's all right. I will definitely be buying more. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Newminster - No.306 English Orient
Crazy English
I had a pipe maker throw in a small sample of this stuff along with a pipe I bought from him and I was instantly hooked. This isn't a traditional English blend but that's alright with me. πŸ˜‰ The addition of the Cavendish and Turkish tobaccos gives this blend an amazing, indescribable flavor profile. Room note is mild and non offending. I've smoked through this stuff slowly as well as rather quickly and there is little to no tongue bite at all. If your an aromatic tobacco smoker and a little hesitant to take your first step into non-aromatic tobaccos I think this would be an excellent one to try. I keep a couple jars filled with this stuff and it's a regular staple in my rotation. Outstanding! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Dunhill - Three Year Matured 50g
Outstanding smoke.
Dunhill outdid themselves with this blend I'm extremely impressed. The tin note is fruity and slightly citrus. The room note is mellow and safe to smoke inside the house. Packing was easy, lights without effort and burned evenly to the bottom. I smoked this rather quickly due to an impending storm and to my surprise there was absolutely no bite. πŸ˜› About halfway through it starts picking up more earthy, mineral flavors though still remaining smooth and mellow. Dunhill presents you with a straight forward tobacco that in return gives you nothing but a good tobacco taste. I will definitely be buying more. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Larsen - W. O. Larsen Limited Edition 2015 100g
Awesome aromatic.
I was really impressed with this blend. Very sweet and bold. Opening the tin up you get berries and sugar and the room note is similar. Really digging the double fermented black Cavendish it gives the blend a lot if body. It burns somewhat uneven start to finish is my only complaint. I smoked the first bowl rather quickly and to my surprise, no bite. Definitely worth the money I will be buying more. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Samuel Gawith - Squadron Leader 50g
Smooth English
This was the first English blend I tried when I started smoking and it's stayed in my collection. Squadron Leader is extremely mild, smooth and no bite . You have to smoke it slow to really pull all the flavor out. It's nutty, sweet and mildly robust in a sense and makes an excellent breakfast, morning smoke with a good cup of coffee. You just have to try a tin you won't be disappointed I promise. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘Š

Peter Stokkebye - PS24 Nougat
Definitely pick some up.
So I bought 8 oz of this stuff just to satisfy my curiosity. The pouch note is amazing! It smells like a waffle cone. Room note is pleasing and the wife said I can smoke this one inside. The ribbon cut packs easy and burns consistent. There is a little bite and a bit of percolating towards the bottom. In my opinion Lane Limited 1-Q is a shade better overall but you won't be throwing your money away to buy a pound of this stuff! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Samuel Gawith - Grousemoor 50g
Very odd aromatic.
I can't really decide if I like this blend or not. It is the oddest aromatic I've tried yet. The tin note I can only describe as along the lines of opening up a bottle of Pine sol. Room note is pretty standard of any Virginia except just a hint of something citrus and fruity. I've only smoked one bowl so far and it burned evenly and slow with not a lot of bite. I would recommend everyone try it at least once but your either gonna love it or hate it. I'm still on the fence on this one so 3.5 stars. πŸ‘Œ

Mac Baren - Vanilla Cream 3.5oz
Decent Vanilla.
Not overly impressed by this blend but wasn't disappointed either I mean anything from Mac Baren's is good. The tin note is awesome a little more candied than expected. Packing is easy even with the cut plugs. Unfortunately the vanilla sort of disappears once smoking is underway but as said before it's Mac Baren so it isn't a bad smoke. There is a little bite so it needs to be smoked slow. I don't think I'll buy in bulk but I will definitely keep a tin or two on hand. πŸ‘

Mac Baren - 7 Seas Regular 3.5oz
Standard aromatic.
I really liked this blend from Mac Baren although the 7 Seas Royal blend still remains my favorite. Tin note is sweet like candy. The room notes are chocolate and vanilla goodness. Smoke it too quick there is some bite to it so take it slow. The blend burns even and leaves little residue at the bottom so you don't get any percolating while smoking. I keep a couple tins on hand but I don't know if I'll be buying a pound of it anytime soon. None the less it's still worth a try. πŸ‘

Stands & Pouches - Chrome Pipe Rest
Outstanding for the money.
This is an outstanding singular pipe stand. It's simply designed, just to pieces of steel which actually accents the pipe quite nicely. The only complaint I have are the edges on the stand aren't rounded and rather sharp so some amount of care is needed when putting your pipe in the rest if your worried about scratches on your bowl. Definitely worth the money. πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Satisfying smoke.
Opening the tin you get wafts of maple syrup definitely a different aromatic. The ribbon cut allows easy packing and even burning. Room note is pretty simple, pancakes with syrup. No bite at all and I smoked this blend rather quick and nicotine kicks in towards the bottom half. Only complaint I have is how dry the tobacco is in the tin it smokes quick but I assume this is a good thing as Craig Tarver doesn't use glycol or any other additives. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy aromatics.

Dunhill - Elizabethan Mixture 50g
Spicy but smooth.
I really enjoyed smoking the Elizabethan Mixture. The tin note is sweet and nutty as mentioned in other reviews. The ribbon cut packs easy and burns evenly top to bottom. The tobacco is a bit moist so you may want to let it dry a day or two for a little easier lighting. It's a pretty standard high grade Virginia and what you would expect but the added Perique gives hints of spicy pepper which is outstanding. There is some bite if smoked to fast so sit back and enjoy this one slowly. I will definitely keep this one on hand. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Three Nuns - Three Nuns 1.75oz
Bland Virginia
I had to give it a try and unfortunately I wasn't too impressed. It's not a terribly bad blend. The tin note and room notes are both subtle and pleasing. Only real complaint is it isn't bursting with any real flavor just a mild sweetness start to finish. It does burn well for being coin and there isn't a lot of bite. I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll buy any more or not. πŸ‘Ž

Peter Stokkebye - Black Vanilla
A nice vanilla.
I can't say this is the best vanilla aromatic I've smoked but it is definitely worth keeping some on hand. The pouch note is really good and strong. The blend burns cool, slow and evenly with just a little bite but that might of been my fault. About three quarters of the way through the vanilla kind of disappears in my opinion but still leaves you with a hearty smoke. None the less you won't be wasting any money to buy 8oz or more of it to stash away. πŸ‘

Daughters & Ryan - RimbochΓ© S.J. 3.5oz
Don't waste your money.
I really try to give every tobacco I try a positive review but I honestly can't with this blend. The Rimboche SJ really struck my interest due to the St. James Perique. Unfortunately if I had to guess this blend is 95% Virginia and 5% Perique if that. The only way I can really sum the blend up is it is a tub of quality cigarette tobacco with hardly any flavor. πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

Lane Limited - 1-Q
My favorite.
1-Q is by far my favorite aromatic tobacco. I can best describe the room note being one of vanilla and or marshmallows. The flavor is really mild and smooth without any bite. This blend burns evenly right to the bottom of the bowl without a lot of residue. If your looking for the quintessential aromatic tobacco I think Lane Limited 1-Q is it. πŸ‘πŸ‘

McClelland - Craftsbury: Frog Morton's Cellar 100g
Very smooth smoke.
This is the first Frog Morton's blends I've tried and I'm pleasantly surprised. The flavor, really is indescribable but there is a nice hint of whiskey in each puff. The tobacco burns slow and even right to the bottom. Extremely smooth with absolutely no bite at all. I definitely will be keeping this blend on hand. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Nording - Hunter Blend: Labrador 50g
Give it a try.
This is a really good aromatic. I don't know if I would smoke this one everyday but definitely one to keep on hand. Nutty, caramel and butter are the words that come to mind smoking this blend and it's very mild with no bite. Only complaint I have its a bit of work to get it lit and burning good it might just need to air dry a bit. None the less this one is worth trying. πŸ‘

Lighters - IM Corona Old Boy Chrome Pinstripe
Worth the money.
I'm the type that likes to buy the best even if I have to save for a bit. So I finally pulled the trigger on this lighter and I'm quite impressed. The lighter works flawlessly every time as promised. If your like me and particular about preserving the rim of your pipe the angled flame is perfect. Changing out the flint isn't hard at all which was something I had wondered about. The fuel capacity is about twice that of the two Xikar lighters I own. Lastly the finish and look of this lighter is amazing and I have to say your getting your money's worth. Definitely would recommend purchasing one. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Mac Baren - 7 Seas Royal 3.5oz
A really good every day smoke.
I was really impressed with this blend. This is an aromatic that you can smoke everyday and not grow tired of it. The quality of the tobacco is excellent and blended evenly. In my opinion the best quality of this particular blend is its extremely moist and slow burning but doesn't leave a puddle of tar and residue at the bottom of the bowl as I've had with other aromatics causing percolating while smoking. I will definitely be buying more of this blend. πŸ‘πŸ‘
