Shape-wise, this piece possesses the form's characteristic tapered curvature, which begins at the bowl's flared rim and continues through the shank. The shape's consistent taper reinforces the stummel's curvature and naturally leads the eye from the plateau-flecked rim to the orangewood accent along the junction. The bright hues of the accent band provide some warmth to the pipe's otherwise dark finish, which consists of a crisp sandblast that highlights handsome grain across the bowl's flanks.
