A little Virginia would take the edge off this stuff. (See Dark Birdseye.) Huge nicotine dose. Worth a try, but don't expect anything other than dark fired Kentucky with just a hint of Lakeland essence.

potpourri. As someone who is not a heavy Burley smoker, DFK is my main course every evening. As advertised, it does make a perfect foundation for a blend and stands well on it's own. If you enjoy Mac Baren HH ODFK you will enjoy this, possibly even more. Stop reading reviews and smoke this. Read Less

Perhaps it is just me. "Strong stuff" isn't a strong enough descriptor. This is the only pipe tobacco that made me feel ill. If you like smoking cigarettes this is the tobacco for you.

It has a full robust flavor, burns well (with a little bit of dry time) and makes for such a darn good time. I will make every effort to put some in my cart every time I place an order on here. Great DFK. Easy to pack, easy to keep lit and smoke. Full flavored and strong. It's tangy and tart and has that deep smokiness. Not an all day puffer as I think it would be overpowering, but a bowl of it is delicious.
Beautiful cut. Top notch smoke.

Pack harder than the ribbon only at the end toward the top.
Certainly strong.
The cut burns well, so if you smoke too much and smoke too quickly, it will be spicy.
Creamy smoke with richness when smoked gently.
