Mostly consistent notes of sweet grass, lemon, toasted nuts, bread, dry earth, lightly smoked wood, mild tart plums, mild floral herbs, mild vinegar, and a mildly peppery retro. s. The VA's are bright and tangy, the perique is peppery and hits just like you want it to. The Latakia is juuuust enough to give it that smokiness I love in an english, but not so much that it is the central theme of this blend.
Honestly, this is such a well crafted blend. I can smoke it anytime of day, and in any mood. It doesn't matter if I'm yearning for an english or a VaPer, this hits the spot.
I keep finding myself reaching for this as opposed to the other regular players in my rotation, so much so that I'm having to restrict myself from smoking it so I don't blow through my tins before I can stock up on some more.
For me, this is going to me by default tobacco blend, probably for a long time. Read Less

Finally cracked a tin after just under a year of aging. Best bowl I’ve had in a while. The casing is reminiscent of Plum Pudding. Glad I bought 2. I’ll be getting more, can’t wait to see what more time in the tin will do. I highly recommend.

ck, check, check. I love the boldness of the perique playing with the Va's. The faint incense of the Lat and the light smokiness of the DFK swirling around in the background send this one over the top for me. Solid 4 stars. This is a nice blend with the Perique as the lead tobacco with the rest supporting the earthy profile.
Not too sweet but the virginias do leave a bit of a tingle after a large bowl.

perfect, adding it's own spicy fruitiness more so than pepper in this blend. The latakia is definitely present and accounted for but never rises above a condimental role, lending the whole experience a gentle, smoky warmth aided by the dark-fired Kentucky, which I believe is more responsible than the perique for what pepper there is to be had. The latakia's influence ebbs and flows between supporting and augmenting the Virginias, and I enjoy their interplay as the balance subtly shifts back and forth.
I smoked mine fully rubbed out with a bit of dry time and it behaved very well in the bowl with minimal relights and a steady slow burn. It never bit and remained tasty from top to bottom.
I would compare this tobacco to a very good mulled wine; warm, spicy, and smooth. If, like some folks, you enjoy your virginias and vapers more so in the warmer months then I would call this the perfect cold weather vaper. It's also probably a good blend to introduce English fans to Virginia tobaccos.
An easy 4.5 stars, and with a bit of proper age I'd wager a solid 5. It makes me excited to see what else Mr. Pease has in store for this new series. Read Less

It's a nice one for my taste buds. Tin note, moisture, and cut are just right. Top to bottom the taste will keep you intrigued. Small sips work best here. Left in a humidor/ jar it gets even better with a few weeks of age. Enjoy yourselves!

A very unique interpretation of a VaPer I enjoy the smoky background the Dark Fired and Latakia present by unfortunately I think if I am going VaPer I prefer a more pungent note of Perique such as Virginia Jazz has still a quality blend worth trying

This blend grew on me. I started curious, and it quickly became my afternoon/tea smoke. Smokes well rubbed out, and if it's a bit windy, I stuff the flakes as whole as I can and it does well. Thank you to Mr. Pease and everyone at C&D.
