Warped's El Oso Primo will be available Wednesday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
When it comes to gifts, I prefer to give experiences. I feel they last longer and are more meaningful than a gift card or a new book. That said, what constitutes an experience varies from person to person. Giving a gift to a smoker can be a challenge but I believe that Warped El Oso Primo is an experience worth giving.
In 2014, Warped Cigars announced their first new cigar line in more than three years, dubbed El Oso — which translates to The Bear from Spanish. It was a bold blend that included an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper with an Ecuadorian binder and filler tobaccos from both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It was a limited production, rolled at the El Titan de Bronze factory in Little Havana in Miami. Kyle Gellis is proud of the El Oso: "Each El Oso utilizes true Cuban technique, such as entubado bunching and the classic Cuban triple cap. El Oso's profile is something I wanted to be different. I spent months developing and refining the blend until it was exactly what I wanted."
El Oso quickly became one of Warped's most sought-after releases, and over the years, it has seen a variety of renditions and sizes, including the special El Oso Gran Papa 10th Anniversary cigar released just a few months ago. In further celebration of the line, Warped also partnered with us here at Smokingpipes to bring the original Oso to a brand new, exclusive 4.5" x 46 size: the Oso Primo. Hand rolled at the legendary El Titan de Bronze factory, El Oso Primo is made only by level-10 rollers from Cuba for construction that not only shows care and attention to detail but results in a smooth burn and smoking experience.
Primo, translating to Cousin from Spanish, gives an opportunity to fully experience El Oso's filler tobacco and provides an experience that affords notes of cocoa nibs, light cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, earth, and rich smoked oak. El Oso Primo is a cigar for everyone. As Alan Britt said in our "Smoke Rings" video on Primo, "They're cigars that you could kind of just sit back and smoke, and they'd be cigars, but if you really sit and try to take in these flavors and make it an experience rather than a smoke, there's a ton to pick out."
The branding on the Primo is minimalistic packaging with the classic El Oso cub on each band. Warped El Oso Primo is a welcome addition to every cigar smoker's humidor. It's available as both a single stick or in boxes of 10, exclusively at Smokingpipes.
