About This Pipe
Though there was a time when the Ikebana line's grading system ascended all the way up to "V", these days it's simplified down to a span of "A" through "G." That means, of course, that this particular bent Dublin is well up there, perched at the modern grading system's penultimate level. It's easy to see why. Though Tsuge does produce some very distinctly Japanese designs (particularly amongst the Ikebana line), overall they tend to hew closer to the Danish influences that serve as a basis for the Japanese style of shaping briar - and this is one bent Dublin that would be worthy of any Danish master. Capacious of bowl, yet beautifully balanced, and quite simply exquisitely grained, this Ikebana would be a fine addition to any collection.
