Michal Novak: Smooth Freehand

Product Number: 002-534-0014

Of late Michal Novak seems to be simplifying his design approach, or at least that's what we've seen in more recently arrived briars. He's kept his signature flying edges, but they don't dominate the shaping as much as before, while at the same time he's both reduced their number and made more efficient use if them. This dramatic freehand Dublin, for example, may bring to mind the trailing wings and rippling robes worn by the famous Nike of Samothrace, (or the Hellenistic Masked and Veiled Dancer, for that matter) and yet, there is in truth only a single, continuous "edge" used here - one that Michal has deftly wound about the entire form to great effect.
